The 2025 ICMJ Northern Conference will be held in Rockhampton from 9-12 April.
Hosted by CQUniversity and Teys Australia, the ICMJ Northern Conference is open to young meat industry professionals and tertiary students. It aims to:
- Equip attendees with knowledge and skills specific to the northern beef supply chain.
- Highlight carcass characteristics of northern beef breeds, associated meat quality and attributes.
- Raise awareness of career opportunities in the northern beef industry.
- Connect participants with industry and create networking opportunities across the northern beef supply chain.
- Expose attendees to new technologies and capabilities within the meat industry.
- Create knowledge of Australia’s position within the global meat supply chain.
What does your ticket include?
- Conference program (Wednesday – Saturday) including guest speakers, interactive workshops, carcass breakdown, primal identification, live animal assessments, plant tour of Teys and beef judging competition.

Where is the conference held?
- The main conference program is held at CQUniversity’s Central Queensland Innovation and Research Precinct (CQIRP) at 630 Ibis Avenue, Rockhampton North.
- A site visit and beef judging competition will be held at Teys Australia, Rockhampton on Saturday 12 April.

Ticket types available:
- Individual registration – $330 (Registration only – no accommodation included)
- On-campus accommodation – $150 (Optional extra for those participants who require accommodation. Accommodation will be at the CQU student residential college (Capricornia College) in a single room with shared bathroom facilities. Price includes accommodation for the entire event (4 nights): Check-in: Wednesday 9th of April Check-out: Sunday 13th of April. Preference will be given to university students.
