Our Purpose

The purpose of the ICMJ program is to attract graduates and early-career professionals to the red meat industry and foster the development of future leaders. The program has demonstrated strong success in building leadership capability, with ICMJ alumni now working across the entire supply chain within Australian and international companies. Many Alumni have transitioned into impactful roles, either currently employed or having been employed by companies across the supply chain.

Our Program

The National ICMJ Conference is held in June/July annually at Charles Sturt University and Teys in Wagga Wagga, NSW. Tertiary students from across Australian universities and invited international guest universities come together for a week of networking, professional development and industry learning. Students hear from industry guest speakers, participate in interactive workshops and training, connect with companies at a the careers expo and complete a meat judging competition.

The Northern ICMJ Conference is held in April annually at at CQU and Teys in Rockhampton. Both Australian university students and industry professionals are able to participate in and attend this conference. This event includes workshops and industry seminars, interactive classes and a meat judging competition and industry and careers expo.

ICMJ also assists with three major schools competitions – held in Wingham, Scone and Gympie.
