30 Jun Book virtual meetings at ICMJ’s online expo
University students seeking a career in the red meat industry can now book a one-on-one video meet and greet with recruiters from more than 30 major companies participating in the upcoming Intercollegiate Meat Judging Association (ICMJ) Careers Expo.
As part of the ICMJ’s Careers Expo, which runs from July 8-10, job seekers will be able to connect for virtual meetings with future employers via their phone or tablet using the Careers Fair Plus app.
ICMJ Careers Expo coordinator Rozzie O’Reilly said the process is as simple as downloading the Careers Fair Plus app, selecting ‘Australian ICMJ’ from the upcoming events list, creating your own profile, uploading a CV and choosing the companies you wish to meet, and booking a time for a 10-minute virtual face-to-face meet and greet.
“The careers expos are immensely popular features of ICMJ’s annual conferences at Charles Sturt University in Wagga Wagga, and CQUniversity in Rockhampton, where students can walk the room and sit down for conversations with recruiters to understand business needs, the positions that are available, and what each business is looking for in new recruits,” Ms O’Reilly said.
“Through the Careers Fair Plus app, we’ve been able to replicate that opportunity for personal discussion between job seekers and recruiters.
“One-on-one meetings of 10 minutes are available throughout the day of Friday July 10. I strongly encourage students to download the app and book their times early with the participating companies to ensure they don’t miss out on their dream job. The ability to schedule appointments will open at 9am (AEST) on Tuesday, 30June”.
Videos from the participating agribusinesses, with details of the opportunities they have available and the skills they are looking for in recruits, will be posted on the ICMJ Facebook ‘2020 Virtual Careers Week’ event page in the lead up to the event.
The ICMJ Careers Expo will also feature webinars from industry leaders on how to network, top tips for making an impression, and the skills that will be in demand in the future as the industry evolves.
